Unheated Ceylon Sapphire - 6.07 Carats

Unheated Ceylon Sapphire - 6.07 Carats

$121,400.00

This is an unheated Ceylon sapphire. Total carat weight: 6.07. You can purchase it as is, or work with us and our color stone supplier to create a custom design around the stone, commissioning a unique piece of jewelry for yourself.

Through our close connections of working with luxury fine jewelry brands over the last decade, I was introduced to one of the world's leading color stones suppliers. This supplier only works with wholesale accounts (top luxury fine jewelry brands globally) but through our relationship with them, we’re able to offer to you the same quality pieces at their wholesale prices.

In the world of color stones, there are two or three major dealers in the world; they hold the vast majority of inventory and control the flow of precious stones going from the mines to the wholesale. Our supplier only does wholesale (B2B); they don't sell to private consumers. But because of our close relationship with them, they are now willing to give us (and our clients) access to some of these stones (at wholesale pricing – the price that brands would buy them for).

Clients have recognized over the last few years that diamonds aren't as rare anymore. Almost everyone can offer a 10 carat D-flawless diamond these days, and as a result, the prices have been mostly stagnant over the last 5-8 years, bearing a few market shifts during Covid. On the contrary, with color stones, once a stone is sold, it's very difficult or even impossible to get a similar stone. Each individual color stone bears its own character which unlike a white diamond is difficult to reproduce as mother nature is doing all of the work. There is most definitely the aspect of scarcity that you simply don't have with diamonds (except with blue and pink hues).

As a result, clients have been wanting to purchase these rare color stones as investments and/or to make their own exclusive fine jewelry designs at wholesale pricing. Most specifically, these include the big three: emeralds from Colombia (the finest/supply is limited), rubies from Burma (extremely hard to find) and sapphires from Burma and Kashmir (extremely rare – they are not being mined). Ultimately, the top of any category is what will go up in value, so it has definitely been a lucrative asset class overall.

The word sapphire comes from the Hebrew word meaning "the most beautiful.” Its’ color ranges from sky blue to transparent, and it represents the world and divine immortality. In gem therapy, blue sapphire is known as one of the most calming stones: it treats insomnia, relieves migraines, and promotes concentration. Tradition says that sapphire can warn against hidden dangers, and increase creative abilities and psychic powers.
