The Faubourg Birkin pays tribute to Hermès' flagship store located at 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. Introduced in 2019 in two color variations, “Day” (Brown) and “Night” (Blue), the Faubourg Birkin, became known as the “House Birkin” due to its charming building-façade-like design. Upon its release, the Faubourg Birkin quickly became a highly coveted handbag among collectors due to its rarity and adorable design. The Sellier technique was the perfect choice to showcase the clever construction of this Birkin, the first-ever to be offered in the 20cm size.

In 2021, two new colorways were released—”Neige/Snow” and “Minuit/Midnight” editions—rounding out the “Faubourg” wardrobe: one for day and one for night, one for spring/summer and one for autumn/winter.

The building’s facade is beautifully replicated in a striking color palette—almost entirely all black with bright pops of orange.  The base and main body (the “brick wall”) is in Black (Noir) Madame leather. The window frames and bottom trim are in Black (Noir) Sombrero leather and the glass window panes appear to be candlelit in Jaune Ambre Swift leather. The petite window awnings are clever flaps crafted in Orange H Swift leather, as is the key-holding clochette—often mistaken for a mini Hermès shopping bag!  The front flap, strap, and handles are made from Black (Noir) Alligator leather.

Made in 2021 ("Z"-Stamp), this limited edition has never been worn. The Midnight Faubourg, being one of the rarest handbags currently in production by Hermès, is truly a prized possession for collectors. In fact, collecting all four color versions of this bag—the 2019 “Day” (Brown) and “Night” (Blue) and the 2021 “Minuit/Midnight” (Black) and “Neige/Snow” (White)—has become known as the “Faubourg Square.”
