“A car so good they named it twice” can only describe the Ferrari LaFerrari—one of the most definitive Ferraris of its time and the ultimate limited-edition supercar. Even a decade after its debut at the 2013 Geneva Show, it continues to be regarded as one of the greatest Ferraris ever produced.

Following in the tracks of iconic limited-edition classics like the 288 GTO, F40, F50, and Enzo, LaFerrari held the title of the most powerful and fastest road Ferrari of its era.

As expected from a Ferrari of such caliber, it showcases remarkable innovation. The LaFerrari was the first production car from Maranello to incorporate electric hybrid power with the KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) which seamlessly delivers electric power to complement the impressive performance of the Ferrari V12 engine. This cutting-edge technology, borrowed from Formula One, was initially utilized by Scuderia Ferrari during the 2009 season, where Kimi Räikkönen, in his KERS-equipped car, won the Belgian Grand Prix.

The KERS system of the LaFerrari not only contributed to its impressive speed (0-200 km/h in 6.9 sec, top speed of 350 km/h), but also enhanced its drivability. While V12 engines are renowned for their high revs and power output, they often lack the low-rev torque found in turbocharged V8 engines commonly used in other Ferrari models. The electric motor in the LaFerrari compensated for this—making it one of the most impressive powertrains in Ferrari's history. Unlike some hybrid vehicles, the LaFerrari's response is both instant and smooth.

The technological advancements of the LaFerrari extend beyond its powertrain. It features a state-of-the-art lightweight carbon-fibre chassis and boasts advanced aerodynamics. Its active aero system includes flaps on the front and rear diffusers, a front underbody guide vane, and an active rear wing. This results in increased downforce for improved cornering and braking, while minimizing drag.

With its low bonnet, muscular wheel-arches, and highly sculptural design, LaFerrari evokes a sense of nostalgia for the classic '60s-era Ferrari sports racers, such as the 330 P4 and 312P.
